Modeling Bainite Dual-Phase Steels: A High-Resolution Crystal Plasticity Simulation Study

چکیده

A bainite dual-phase (FB) steel containing polygonal ferrite and granular is thermo-mechanically rolled, followed by an accelerated cooling. Two different cooling rates are applied to obtain two materials. The aim of the study explore reasons for differences in mechanical response experimentally observed these materials which modeled means high-resolution crystal plasticity simulations with a phenomenological constitutive description. First, CP parameters individual constituents determined. Second, three-dimensional (3D) representative volume elements (RVEs)—one includes substructure bainite—are used properties both FB microstructures. It shown that, contrast macroscopic response, microscopic differs among RVEs. Third, comparison performed analyzing their stress–strain response. onset found be addition strain partitioning, although they obeyed iso-work assumption. Finally, parameter carried out order investigate correlation between microstructures damage initiation that can seen this steel. difference ultimate elongation may depend on whether first voids appear within or at phase boundary.

High Temperature Behavior of Dual Phase Steels

Dual phase steels with different martensite volume fraction and morphology were tensile tested at a temperature range of 25 to 5500C. Stress-strain curves of all steels showed serration flow at temperatures of 250 and 3500C, and smooth flow at the other temperatures. Both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased with increasing testing temperature up to about 450<sup...

Ultra-Fine Grained Dual-Phase Steels

This paper provides an overview on obtaining low-carbon ultra-fine grained dual-phase steels through rapid intercritical annealing of cold-rolled sheet as improved materials for automotive applications. A laboratory processing route was designed that involves cold-rolling of a tempered martensite structure followed by a second tempering step to produce a fine grained aggregate of ferrite and ca...

Damage Behavior in Modern Automotive High Strength Dual Phase Steels During Uniaxial Tensile Deformation

In the present research, damage mechanisms during room temperature uniaxial tensile testing of two different modern high strength dual phase steels,DP780 and DP980, were studied. Detailed microstructural characterization of the strained and sectioned samples was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results revealed that interface decohesion, especially at the triple junctions of...
